“Ghost covers head, Vortex bravely attacks! Look like he had him! Ghost is on the rope! Now, a turn! Unbelievable, Vortex makes tiny mistake and Ghost takes an advantage. Look at the power of those punches! Unbelievable! Vortex trying to escape, but Ghost follows him… Another turn! Now Ghost is in uncomfortable position…”
This is how it would look like that you watching live battle for the best crossbow. And it would go over, and over, and over again. This would be the hardest decision yet. I know that someone will say something like “Hey, they are not in the same category!”, or “They are not the same kind, fcs!”, but here only one can be the best and everyone has a same chance. So, let’s try to find a winner.
What Barnett Ghost 400 offers? 185 lb draw and 400 fps.
It’s compound… I don’t know for sure is it good or bad. I like compound bows. But, recurve is easier to maintain. Also is lighter (6.3 vs 7.8 lbs). And produce that ancient feeling. It’s like an Alfa male which swing his dick around proudly, raw motherfucker which spits on anything. And I love it because of that! Vortex gets +1 point just like barnett quad 400 crossbow review.
He will gain a little minus (very little) because of 200 lb draw weight and slower speed. But, we can agree that 15 lb is nothing. Also, we can agree that 330 fps is more than enough to kill anything that is moving, in case that is not heavy armored truck. As I mentioned in review of Excalibur Vortex, its fantastic feeling to use it. I like that simple design, simple way of use, cock, aim, shoot, dead, go home. And I also like that feeling of money that I would save if I’m going to buy Vortex instead of Ghost.
But, I already own Ghost. And that is what makes this decision even harder. Vortex wins. It’s the best. The crossbow made for real mens who knows what they want. Because I’m not real man, I’ll stick to the Ghost.
